Growing the talents of tomorrow, today
"Questions from the future" is a project by Lavazza that combines fine dining with values such as diversity and inclusion, encouraging young people to reflect about an inclusive culinary world.
In recent years, the love for cooking has attracted an increasing number of people, including children. The values we teach children today will influence their behavior in the future, for this reason it is essential to instill values such as respect, sharing, and inclusion in their education, including if they are passionate food lover.
Chiara Pavan, a former philosophy student, then transitioned to Top Gastronomy due to her infinite passion for this word, she is now the Cheffe at “Venissa”, a Michelin starred restaurant located on the small island of Mazzorbo near Venice. She has received numerous awards, including a Michelin Star and a Michelin Green Star for her sustainable cooking practices and ethical choices.
She was also selected to participate to the exclusive tv program “Masterchef Italia” that gave her a huge visibility and confirmed the Lavazza’s esteem in her figure.
Her culinary style is defined by a modern, technical approach that emphasizes resource optimization and environmental stewardship. Cheffe Pavan’s dishes are inspired by the local landscape, focusing on the use of zero-mile ingredients and sustainability. Her commitment to the environment is reflected in her extensive use of vegetables and a significant reduction in meat consumption.
Thanks to Lavazza, with the project 'Questions from the Future,' Chiara Pavan had the opportunity to address important and valuable topics, exploring different culinary styles and attitudes. The children's questions, which were gathered into a unique graphic crafted cookbook, allowed Pavan to delve deeper into her vision of gastronomy based on sustainability, respect, and inclusion, highlighting the importance of these values.
Lavazza's "Questions from the future" was inspired by genuine, spontaneous questions from children worldwide. Cheffe Pavan answered these questions candidly and with empathy, sharing her vision. The children's curiosity also provided an opportunity for Cheffe Pavan to discuss important topics such as gender gaps, workplace equity, shared leadership, social sustainability, and waste reduction.
A unique cookbook has been created from the questions posed by children from around the world, with translations in six languages. The design is inspired by traditional cookbooks, featuring colorful pages that address relevant topics in the culinary industry using light and accessible language. Each page has its own distinct color, writing style, and language, celebrating the richness of diversity and the unique curiosity of children.
